About Aaron Fazakas
 Quotes:

"I found in Aaron Fazakas a very good creative companion. The music he writes has an unearthly quality that you seldom find in the works of nowadays. He can also be very versatile and can adapt to all sorts of film genres, which is an absolute must.

Working with him was, at times, a ride in the storm, a battle of the egos, other times a peaceful journey through the alley of the frames-per-second, and finally materialized in a very uplifting result. I could not have settled for less!"

Horatiu Damian Ph.D., film director

"Spontaneous, yet rigorous.

Impetuous, yet careful with the details.

Calculated, yet unpredictable.

There is himself and his art.

The music of Aaron Fazakas' work defines itself, first and foremost, through its polystylistic–programmatic openness, including as a relevant constant the appetence for film music. As the spectrum of the styles he approaches is an extremely broad one (from the protestant choral intonations to jazz idioms), a special importance is given to the specificity of their technique of interpenetration and orientation into the stream of his own structural-expressive conception of an obvious originality and suggestive power."

Oleg Garaz, musicologist

"Aaron Fazakas, an instinctual and passional composer, meditative, but broken loose as well, with a kind of music that electrifies and inspires the masses in itself, transporting his audience away with agony and extasy, subliming, through his art, the obscure latency and the deep essentials of the spirit."

Cristian Sandu Ph.D., conductor

"Composer Aaron Fazakas' music sounds mysterious and uplifting..."

Liviu Moga Ph.D., contrabass univ. professor

"The dedication and the lack of complexes, which I would say is Hollywoodian, that makes the composer Aaron Fazakas aspire to communicate with as many of his spectators as possible, are rewarded by the interest and the gratitude of the audience."

Virgil Mihaiu Ph.D., jazz music expert

I have said it many times: "Gh. Dima" Music Academy in Cluj is one of the highest education institutions through which Romania can consider itself to have been integrated in the cultural Europe long ago. An event which proves that the statement above can be valid even in the future is the recent issue of the "Stalactite – the Silent Witness" CD. This marks the discographic debut for composer Aaron Fazakas and conductor Cristian Sandu. Both were educated in ... more >>

Aaron Fazakas About
 Quotes:

"The creative consciousness and message have primary importance, the rest are only tools and style."

"Purely instrumental autonomous music cannot convey to its audience an unequivocally decipherable semantic content."

"One must never approach any kind of intellectual or creative activity with pride or irascibility but with humbleness."

A hall concert in Cluj, in the summer of 2005. The newly composed music work is being played. As usual, the audience is being tortured by the "horrors" so dear to Romanian composers. Suddenly, without any warning, the air vibrates with elevating, deep music, like in the times when ... more >>

Aaron Fazakas was kind enough to share in the interview below his future plans as far as his activity as a composer was concerned and to reveal a few facets of "his way of life" - music.
Reporter: What are your latest projects?
Aaron Fazakas: At the moment, I'm writing the music for a ballet called "The Little Match Girl", after Hans Christian Andersen's story with the same title. Music's programmatic content presents, by comparison, the winter holidays atmosphere of joy and brightness (as inaccessible joy) contrasting with a little girl's cold, darkness and loneliness, whose anonymous and worthless end, clearly amplifies the ... more >>
